Regular Season Round 32: Malbas - Umea 93-84

Bottom-ranked Malbas managed to get a third victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Tuesday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Umea in Malmo 93-84. Umea was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 26-12 charge of Malbas, which allowed them to win the game. Malbas outrebounded Umea 37-26 including 22 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Adrian Rodgers (194-92, college: Southern, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and Danish center Lasse Elbaek (208-94) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Norwegian-American guard Terrence Oglesby (188-88, college: Clemson) responded with 25 points and American guard Gerald Williams (190-91, college: La Sierra) scored 22 points and 5 assists. Malbas maintains ninth position with 3-25 record. Umea lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 25 games lost. Malbas will meet higher ranked Sodertalje Kings (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Umea will play against KFUM Jamtland (#5) and hope to secure a win.
