Regular Season Round 22: PuHu Juniorit - Korikouvot 87-45

There was no surprise in Vantaa where 4th ranked Korikouvot (16-10) was outplayed by first ranked PuHu Juniorit (22-4) 87-45 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by PuHu Juniorit. Korikouvot was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Korikouvot to just 7 points in fourth quarter. PuHu Juniorit held Korikouvot to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Guard Pyry Rainamaa (194-90) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Eero Lehtinen (194-85) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Danish center Nicolai Andersen (203-96) responded with 7 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Teemu Knihtinen (195-98) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PuHu Juniorit have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-4 record. Loser Korikouvot keeps the fourth place with ten games lost.
