Regular Season Round 38: Rieker KN - Inter Bratislava 78-85

Date: March 8, 2017
The game in Komarno was also quite interesting. Second ranked Inter Bratislava (26-9) played at the court of 5th ranked Rieker KN (19-15). Inter Bratislava managed to secure a 7-point victory 85-78 on Wednesday. Strangely Rieker KN outrebounded Inter Bratislava 39-26 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward William Walker (197-87, college: Bethel, IN) notched 25 points to lead the effort and the former international Tomas Mrvis (200-91, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Walker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) did not help to save the game for Rieker KN. Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Four Inter Bratislava and five Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Inter Bratislava maintains second position with 26-9 record having just one point less than leader Kosice. Loser Rieker KN keeps the fifth place with 15 games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet at home bottom-ranked Nitra (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rieker KN will play against the league's leader Kosice (#1) and hope to secure a win.
