There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Oulun NMKY (13-12) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Jarvenpaa (9-16) 83-76 on Friday. Oulun NMKY was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of Jarvenpaa, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Leo Tarjanne (189-95) scored 27 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (191-81) chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Zach Stahl (196, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Demondre Harvey (201-93, college: La-Monroe) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jarvenpaa maintains eighth position with 9-16 record. Loser Oulun NMKY keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Jarvenpaa will face higher ranked HBA-Marsky (#6) in Helsinki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Oulun NMKY will play on the road against ToPo in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
