Regular Season Round 33: Umea - Jamtland 87-83

Another exciting game for Umea (5-25) which hosted 5th ranked KFUM Jamtland (15-14). Eighth ranked Umea won 87-83. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-15. But KFUM Jamtland won second period 27-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Umea players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward George Valentine (203-88, college: Winthrop, agency: Mansfield and Associates) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and Norwegian-American guard Terrence Oglesby (188-88, college: Clemson) chipped in 14 points and 9 assists. Five Umea players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jabril Durham (185-94, college: Arkansas) with 25 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Umea maintains eighth place with 5-25 record. KFUM Jamtland at the other side keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Boras. Umea will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KFUM Jamtland will play at home against Sodertalje Kings (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
