Regular Season Round 27: Caceres - Marin 83-67

No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked Caceres Basket (12-15) defeated at home bottom-ranked Marin (6-21) 83-67 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Caceres Basket. Marin was better in second period 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caceres Basket made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Caceres Basket forced 20 Marin turnovers. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Carlos Toledo (200-94, agency: Duran International) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Tim Derksen (191-94, college: USF) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Marin players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Caceres Basket moved-up to twelfth place. Marin lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Caceres Basket will face higher ranked Palma (#10) in S'Arenal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marin will play at home against Palencia Baloncesto (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
