Regular Season Round 39: Kosice - Rieker KN 84-73

SBL top team - Kosice (29-6) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Rieker KN (19-16) 84-73. Kosice made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91, agency: BeoExcell) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) helped adding 18 points. Four Kosice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Kosice maintains first place with 29-6 record. Rieker KN lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. Kosice are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nitra (#11) in Nitra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rieker KN will play at home against Handlova (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
