No shocking result in a game in Aichi where third ranked Tokyo HT (19-11) smashed 8th ranked Toyoda Gosei (5-25) 76-48 on Saturday. They outrebounded Toyoda Gosei 40-22 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Brian Harper (208-85, college: Paine) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 7 points and 12 rebounds. American center Matthew Kendrick (215-90, college: St.Leo) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) added 6 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tokyo HT have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 19-11 record having eight points less than leader Kanazawa Sam. Loser Toyoda Gosei keeps the eighth position with 25 games lost. Tokyo HT will face Saitama Broncos (#7) at home in the next round. Toyoda Gosei will play against the league's leader Kanazawa Sam. and hope to win that game.
