Important game to mention about took place in Sopot. Twelfth ranked Polpharma (13-11) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Trefl (12-11) 88-85 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trefl. Trefl was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) scored 20 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-96) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) responded with 28 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Polpharma and four Trefl players scored in double figures. Polpharma moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Trefl dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Polpharma will face league's leader Stelmet in Zielona Gora in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Trefl will play at home against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#6) and hope to win that game.
