Regular Season Round 24: Valencia - Fuenlabrada 101-86

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (10-13) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Valencia Basket (16-6) 101-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia Basket. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was better in fourth quarter 33-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valencia Basket made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Valencia Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds and Central African swingman Romain Sato (195-81, college: Xavier) who added 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Croatian point guard Marko Popovic (185-82, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: Alti Sport) with 18 points and Swedish point guard Ludvig Hakanson (190-96) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Five Valencia Basket and four Baloncesto Fuenlabrada players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia Basket moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Madrid. Loser Baloncesto Fuenlabrada keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Valencia Basket will face league's leader CB Canarias in Tenerife in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play at home against Sevilla (#14) and hope to win that game.
