Regular Season Round 45: Hiroshima D. - Iwate Big Bulls 77-57

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (10-33) were outscored by second ranked Dragonflies (34-9) in Hiroshima 77-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Dragonflies led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Iwate Big Bulls' 36. It was a good game for the former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Shinya Chiba (185-87) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dragonflies maintains second place with 34-9 record having just two point less than leader Gunma. Loser Iwate Big Bulls keep the sixth position with 33 games lost. Dragonflies will face again Iwate Big Bulls (#6) at home in the next round.
