There was no surprise when 7th ranked Amsterdam (7-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Rotterdam (10-13) 76-72 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for American guard Jermaine Marshall (193-90, college: Arizona St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Greg Mays (203-93, college: Green Bay, agency: Court Side) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Aaron Roye (184-88) responded with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Dimeo Van-Der-Horst (197-91) scored 20 points. Four Amsterdam players scored in double figures. Rotterdam maintains fifth place with 10-13 record. Amsterdam lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Leeuwarden. Rotterdam will meet at home bottom-ranked Weert (#8) in the next round. Amsterdam will play against the league's leader Groningen and hope to secure a win.
