Regular Season Round 44: Yokohama BC - Ryukyu GK 69-70

A very interesting game took place in Yokohama. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Yokohama BC (14-28) to fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (18-24) 70-69 in the fight for the fifth place. Yokohama BC was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 22-14 charge of Ryukyu GK, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 36-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Naoki Tashiro (188-93) supported him with 17 points. Ryukyu GK's coach Tsutomu Isa used entire bench in such tough game. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by international center Pape Faye (200-87) did not help to save the game for Yokohama BC. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) added 17 points for the hosts. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK maintains fifth position with 18-24 record which they share with defeated Yokohama BC. Yokohama BC lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 28 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play again at home against Ryukyu GK (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
