Serie A2 top team - Bologna (17-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Palermo (3-16) 61-29. The game without a history. Bologna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Palermo to just 3 points in first quarter and to 12 points in first half. Bologna held Palermo to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Bologna forced 20 Palermo turnovers and had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) nailed 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and forward Giulia Occhipinti (181-88) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bologna maintains first place in A2 with 17-2 record. Palermo at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Bologna will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Palermo will play on the road against Civitanova (#6) in Civitanova Marche and hopes to get back on the winning track.
