Regular Season Round 23: Araski - Al-Qazeres 67-59

Very expected game when 10th ranked Al-Qazeres (9-14) lost to fourth ranked Araski (13-10) in Vitoria-Gasteiz 59-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Araski led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Araski forced 23 Al-Qazeres turnovers. Strangely Al-Qazeres outrebounded Araski 40-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 4 assists. Swingman Marta Tudanca (182-90) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Croatian-Italian center Dubravka Dacic (201-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and American power forward Julie Forster (185-91, college: Albany) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Al-Qazeres in the defeat. Newly promoted Araski maintains fourth place with 13-10 record, which they share with Ferrol. Al-Qazeres lost sixth consecutive game. Al-Qazeres at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Bembibre. Araski will meet at home league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al-Qazeres will play against Gran Canaria (#14) and hope to secure a win.
