LF2 top team - Alcobendas (17-5) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Olimpico 64 (3-19) in Madrid 72-67. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Olimpico 64 won second period 11-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Paula Palomares (174-84) fired 19 points for the winners. Colombian power forward Tathiana Mosquera (196-89) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Power forward Katia Javier (182-93) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alcobendas maintains first position in Group B with 17-5 record, which they share with Estudiantes and Leganes. Loser Olimpico 64 keeps the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Alcobendas will meet at home Promete (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olimpico 64's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena ASEFA Estudiantes.
