Regular Season Round 27: GKS Tychy - Astoria Bydg. 97-79

Very predictable result when fifth ranked GKS Tychy (17-10) won against at home 15th ranked Astoria Bydg. (7-20) 97-79 on Saturday. GKS Tychy looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 assists. Marek Piechowicz (201-88) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Center Mateusz Fatz (205-96) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Dorian Szyttenholm (193-83, agency: Promotex) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Astoria Bydg. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GKS Tychy maintains fifth place with 17-10 record. Astoria Bydg. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. GKS Tychy will meet league's second-placed Legia W-wa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Astoria Bydg. will play against Nysa Klodzko (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
