Regular Season Round 44: San-en - Hokkaido L. 72-73

Important game to mention about took place in Hamamatsu. Fourth ranked Hokkaido L. (15-27) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Sanen Neophoenix (25-17) 73-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sanen Neophoenix. Sanen Neophoenix was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 22-17 charge of Hokkaido L., which allowed them to win the game. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) saved the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sanen Neophoenix. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-27 record. Sanen Neophoenix at the other side keeps the second place with 17 games lost. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sanen Neophoenix will play again at home against Hokkaido L. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
