Second Stage Round 8: Eskilstuna - Lobas 83-59

Date: March 11, 2017
There was no surprise when 4th ranked Lobas (7-8) were outplayed on the road by second ranked Eskilstuna (13-2) 83-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Eskilstuna. Lobas was better in fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Eskilstuna forced 19 Lobas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Felix Adjei (190, college: Seneca) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Eskilstuna's coach Steven Hopkins felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Martin Nilsson (195-92) responded with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Freddy Andersson (191-87) scored 18 points. Eskilstuna used an opportunity after IK Eos lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in BEHS forts. Loser Lobas keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Eskilstuna will face RIG Mark (#6) in Kinna in the next round where they are favorite. Lobas will play on the road against the league's leader IK Eos in Lund and hope to win that game.
