Regular Season Round 28: Souffel - GET Vosges 74-58

Rather predictable result when third ranked Souffelweyersheim (19-9) beat at home 5th ranked GET Vosges (16-12) 74-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Souffelweyersheim. GET Vosges was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GET Vosges to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Souffelweyersheim dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to GET Vosges' 16 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. GET Vosges was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. DR Congolese-Belgian power forward Ruphin Kayembe (200-92) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Souffelweyersheim maintains third position with 19-9 record having just three points less than leader Caen. Loser GET Vosges keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face league's second-placed Quimper UJAP on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. GET Vosges will play against the league's leader Caen and hope to win that game.
