Regular Season Round 27: Oviedo - Castello 97-87

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Castello (11-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Oviedo CB (18-9) 97-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Oviedo CB. Castello was better in fourth quarter 30-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oviedo CB made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Oviedo CB looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Miquel Salvo-Llambrich (205-94) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Oviedo CB players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Eduardo Duran (190-91, agency: Duran International) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists and power forward Federico Ucles (204-93) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Oviedo CB moved-up to second place, which they share with Burgos and Palencia. Castello lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Oviedo CB will face league's leader Gipuzkoa in San Sebastian in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castello will play at home against CB Prat (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
