Regular Season Round 25: Macae - Caxias do Sul 73-67

Bottom-ranked Macae managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Caxias do Sul 73-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caxias do Sul. Macae made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Caxias do Sul turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Caxias do Sul helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Guilherme Schneider (193-86) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Macae's coach Leonardo Costa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) answered with 13 points and forward Diego Conceicao (200-87) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Caxias do Sul. Macae (5-18) moved-up to thirteenth place. Caxias do Sul at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with L.Sorocaba. Macae are looking forward to face higher ranked Flamengo (#3) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caxias do Sul will play on the road against Vasco Da G. (#9) in Rio de Janeiro and is hoping to win this game.
