Regular Season Round 21: Sesto SG - Bolzano 76-50

Serie A2 top team - Sesto SG (19-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Bolzano (5-16) in Sesto San Giovanni 76-50. The game without a history. Sesto SG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bolzano's 32. Sesto SG forced 23 Bolzano turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Beatrice Barberis (178-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 22 points. The best for the losing side was Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (189-86) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) scored 14 points and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sesto SG maintains first place in A2 with 19-2 record. Bolzano at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Sesto SG are looking forward to face Albino (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bolzano will play against the league's second-placed Empoli (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
