Regular Season Round 45: Tochigi Brex - Niigata Albirex 100-62

An interesting game for Tochigi Brex (34-9) which hosted in Tochigi 4th placed Niigata Albirex (19-24). First ranked Tochigi Brex had an easy win 100-62. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Niigata Albirex 53-26 including a 38-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) accounted for 20 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) came up with 25 points and 8 rebounds and forward Stephan Van-Treese (206-90, college: Louisville, agency: Inception Sports) added 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Niigata Albirex in the defeat. Tochigi Brex maintains first place with 34-9 record. Niigata Albirex lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Ryukyu GK. Tochigi Brex will meet Shiga L-Stars (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Niigata Albirex will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
