Not a big story in a game in Hiroshima where 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (10-34) were rolled over by second ranked Dragonflies (35-9) 98-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Dragonflies. Iwate Big Bulls was better in third quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iwate Big Bulls to just 6 points in first quarter. Dragonflies dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Iwate Big Bulls' 40. Iwate Big Bulls were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Senegalese center Aziz N'Diaye (213-88, college: Washington) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) responded with 8 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dragonflies have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 35-9 record having just two point less than leader Gunma. Iwate Big Bulls lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 34 games lost. Dragonflies will face Kumamoto V. (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Cyberdyne IR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
