Regular Season Round 45: Yokohama BC - Ryukyu GK 66-75

Date: March 12, 2017
There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (19-24) beat on the road 5th ranked Yokohama BC (14-29) 75-66 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Yokohama BC won third quarter 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ryukyu GK had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Ryukyu GK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a good game for American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. International guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) contributed with 11 points for the winners. International center Pape Faye (200-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Yokohama BC. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryukyu GK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Yokohama BC lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 29 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
