Regular Season Round 24: Treviso Basket - Chieti 80-47
Date: March 12, 2017
Very expected game when 12th ranked Chieti (9-15) was smashed on the road by second ranked Treviso Basket (17-7) 80-47 on Sunday. Treviso Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Chieti's 18. They outrebounded Chieti 51-26 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Treviso Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Matteo Fantinelli (195-93, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) contributed with 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) replied with 7 points and 12 rebounds and Matteo Fallucca (196-93) added 11 points in the effort for Chieti. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Treviso Basket maintains second position in A2 with 17-7 record behind leader Angelico Biella. Loser Chieti dropped to the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Treviso Basket will face Ravenna (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Chieti will play against Roseto (#6) and hope to win that game.
