Regular Season Round 46: Bambitious Nara - Ehime OV 109-99

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Bambitious Nara (16-28) defeated at home 4th ranked Orange Vikings (23-21) 109-99 on Sunday. Orange Vikings were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Bambitious Nara made 32-of-42 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Orange Vikings outrebounded Bambitious Nara 43-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Orange Vikings were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) scored 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and guard Yoshihumi Nakajima (176-90) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bambitious Nara maintains fifth position with 16-28 record. Loser Orange Vikings dropped to the third place with 21 games lost. Bambitious Nara will face higher ranked Tokyo Z (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Orange Vikings will play against Kagoshima in Renova and hope to win that game.
