No shocking result in a game in S'Arenal where fourth ranked Leganes (17-5) outleveled 12th ranked IF Air Europa (6-16) 80-46 on Sunday. The game without a history. Leganes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Leganes forced 21 IF Air Europa turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Christina Marinacci (185-91, college: USC) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Greek-Nigerian forward Jessica Ogunnorin (185-92, college: VCU) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. Leganes' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Regina Gomez (173-82) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Brigida Gual (-97) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Leganes keeps a position of Group B leader, which they share with Estudiantes and Alcobendas. Loser IF Air Europa dropped to the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Leganes will face Rivas Promete (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. IF Air Europa will play against Antiguo Boscos (#8) in Zaragoza and hope to win that game.
