Liga Endesa top team - CB Canarias (18-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Movil Estudiantes (9-14) in Madrid 82-63. The game was mostly controlled by CB Canarias. Movil Estudiantes managed to win third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CB Canarias dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Movil Estudiantes' 24. CB Canarias forced 19 Movil Estudiantes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American-French forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was French Edwin Jackson (190-89, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 13 points and Bosnian-Croatian center Goran Suton (208-85, college: Michigan St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Canarias have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-5 record. Loser Movil Estudiantes keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. CB Canarias will meet at home Valencia Basket (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
