Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Third ranked Tokyo Z (18-27) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Cyberdyne IR (18-26) 64-61 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cyberdyne IR. Cyberdyne IR was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 18-13 charge of Tokyo Z, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Cyberdyne IR outrebounded Tokyo Z 44-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) supported him with 13 points. Tokyo Z's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Even a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds by British power forward Dzaflo Larkai (203-81, college: Bellarmine, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Cyberdyne IR. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. Tokyo Z maintains third position with 18-27 record having fourteen points less than leader Gunma. Cyberdyne IR at the other side keeps the fifth place with 26 games lost. Tokyo Z will play against Bambitious Nara (#5) at home in the next round. Cyberdyne IR will play against Iwate Big Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
