Very expected game when 10th ranked Mayrouba (3-13) lost to fifth ranked Louaize (9-8) in Zouk 81-91 on Sunday. Mayrouba was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Louaize looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Louaize made 8 blocks. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by Travis McKie (201-92, college: Wake Forest, agency: Diamond Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St., agency: HMS) supported him with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Five Louaize players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds by center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) did not help to save the game for Mayrouba. Forward Emmanuel Jones (200-85, college: UTRGV) added 24 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Louaize maintains fifth position with 9-8 record. Mayrouba lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. Louaize will meet higher ranked Byblos (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mayrouba will play against Tadamon (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
