Regular Season Round 22: Lahti - HBA-Marsky 81-92

Date: March 12, 2017
The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Lahti (19-6) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked HBA-Marsky (10-15) 92-81. The game was mostly controlled by HBA-Marsky. Lahti managed to win third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by Lahti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Edon Maxhuni (186-98) scored 32 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Hannes Polla (212-98) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Rashad Smith (201-93, college: Tulsa, agency: Diamond Sports) responded with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and swingman Aleksi Alanen (194-91) scored 22 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lahti's coach Arttu Mannelin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. HBA-Marsky moved-up to sixth place. Lahti at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. HBA-Marsky are looking forward to face Jarvenpaa (#8) on the road in the next round. Lahti will play against Forssan Koripojat (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
