Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Roma Virtus (14-10) defeated on the road 12th ranked Eurobasket Roma (11-13) 83-78 on Sunday. Roma Virtus forced 20 Eurobasket Roma turnovers. It was a good game for American forward John Brown (203-92, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Daniele Sandri (197-90) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Michael Deloach (185-86, college: Norfolk St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import center Tony Easley (206-87, college: Murray St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Eurobasket Roma. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Roma Virtus moved-up to fifth place in A2. Newly promoted Eurobasket Roma keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Roma Virtus will face Treviglio (#6) at home in the next round. Eurobasket Roma will play against Scafati (#16) and hope to win that game.
