Regular Season Round 22: JuveCaserta - MIA-RO Cantu 79-85

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Caserta where 12th ranked Juvecaserta (9-13) was defeated by thirteenth ranked AV Cantu (9-13) 85-79. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. AV Cantu made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) notched 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the effort and international guard David Cournooh (187-90, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. AV Cantu's coach Carlo Recalcati allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by French Yakhouba Diawara (201-82, college: Pepperdine) did not help to save the game for Juvecaserta. Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) added 20 points for lost side. AV Cantu moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with JuveCaserta. Juvecaserta lost fourth consecutive game. AV Cantu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Enel Brindisi (#9) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
