Regular Season Round 45: San-en - Hokkaido L. 71-73

The most exciting game of round 45 in the B League took place in Hamamatsu. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-best Sanen Neophoenix (25-18) to fourth ranked Hokkaido L. (16-27) 73-71 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 25-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sanen Neophoenix. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 16-27 record. Sanen Neophoenix at the other side keeps the second position with 18 games lost. Hokkaido L. are looking forward to face Niigata Albirex (#4) at home in the next round. Sanen Neophoenix will play against Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and is hoping to win this game.
