Regular Season Round 22: Strasbourg - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 67-58

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (16-6) against sixth ranked Strasbourg IG (13-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Pau-Lacq-Orthez was defeated by Strasbourg IG in a tough game in Strasbourg 58-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pau-Lacq-Orthez won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strasbourg IG dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Paul Lacombe (195-90, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American-FYR Macedonian Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American point guard DJ Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists and his fellow American import Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Strasbourg IG have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Chalon and Nanterre. Strasbourg IG will play against Olympique Antibes (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Le Mans (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
