Regular Season Round 45: Chiba Jets - Shiga L-Stars 94-61

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-33) were smashed on the road by third ranked Chiba Jets (30-13) 94-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Chiba Jets. Shiga L-Stars was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Kosuke Ishii (182-87) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba Jets have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place with 30-13 record having seven points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the sixth position with 33 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Kyoto Hannar. (#4) on the road in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against the league's leader Tochigi Brex and hope to win that game.
