Regular Season Round 38: Quimsa - Atenas 91-80
Date: March 13, 2017
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Quimsa (22-18) beat 9th ranked Atenas (13-24) in Santiado Estero 91-80 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimsa. Atenas was better in third quarter 30-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import Aaron Harper (203-81, college: Mississippi) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. American Pete Mickeal (199-78, college: Cincinnati) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and forward Lisandro Rasio (198-90, agency: Pro Sports) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Atenas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimsa moved-up to fifth place. Loser Atenas keeps the ninth position with 24 games lost. Quimsa will face Boca Juniors (#9) in Buenos Aires in the next round. Atenas will play on the road against Olimpico de La Banda and hope to win that game.
