Regular Season Round 26: Vasco Da G. - Caxias do Sul 57-76

An interesting game took place in Rio de Janeiro where higher ranked Vasco Da G. (12-13) was upset on its own court by fourteenth ranked Caxias do Sul (6-19) 76-57. Caxias do Sul dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Vasco Da G.'s 20 and made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Point guard Patrick Vieira (186-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international Marcio Dornelles (196-75) replied with 12 points and the former international point guard Helio-Vitor Lima (185-81) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vasco Da G.Caxias do Sul moved-up to thirteenth place. Vasco Da G. at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Caxias do Sul's next round opponent will be higher ranked Paulistano (#9) in Sao Paolo and it may be quite challenging game.
