The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked San Lorenzo (27-12) in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Ferrocarril (26-14) 70-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San Lorenzo. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But San Lorenzo won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ferrocarril won last quarter 21-18. It was a great evening for American center Andrew Feeley (206-83, college: UMBC) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 5 rebounds. Martin Cuello (193-93) helped adding 13 points. Ferrocarril's coach Alvaro Castineira used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international Marcos Mata (201-86) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia, agency: Stealth Sport) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Ferrocarril maintains second place with 26-14 record having just two points less than leader San Lorenzo. Defending champion San Lorenzo still keeps top position with 12 games lost. Ferrocarril are looking forward to face Regatas Corrientes (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Lorenzo will play against Obras Basket and is hoping to win this game.
