Regular Season Round 8: Arena-76 - SEU Tbilisi 93-63

Bottom-ranked SEU Tbilisi (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-63 loss to fifth ranked Arena-76 (5-3) in on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Arena-76. SEU Tbilisi managed to win fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arena-76 dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to SEU Tbilisi's 34. Arena-76 forced 21 SEU Tbilisi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by SEU Tbilisi's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tato Chachibaia (201-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Konstantine Bitsadze (195-97) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Arena-76 players scored in double figures. Arena-76's coach Marco Minichi felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Kakha Giorgadze (197-94) responded with 26 points and forward Bega Akhalaia (195-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Arena-76 moved-up to third place. Loser SEU Tbilisi still closes the standings with eight games lost. Arena-76 will meet league's second-placed Hyundai-TSU in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SEU Tbilisi will play against Tskaltubo (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
