Second Stage Round 8: Eskilstuna - Huddinge 97-65
Date: March 15, 2017
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Huddinge (6-7) was crushed on the road by second ranked Eskilstuna (13-2) 97-65 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Eskilstuna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Huddinge's 34. Eskilstuna forced 26 Huddinge turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Huddinge was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Hannes Widell (183-94) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) who added 11 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Center Leonard Halling-Ibo (200-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Andrei Khromchanka (182-93) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Eskilstuna used an opportunity after IK Eos lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in BEHS forts. Loser Huddinge keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Eskilstuna will face RIG Mark (#6) in Kinna in the next round where they are favorite. Huddinge will play on the road against Talje Knights and hope to win that game.
