Regular Season Round 39: Obras Basket - Quimsa 116-89

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Quimsa's (22-20) road loss to fifth ranked Obras Basket (21-21) 89-116 on Thursday. The game without a history. Obras Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.8 percent from the field. Obras Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 59.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!) (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international center Martin Leiva (211-80) helped adding 20 points and 10 rebounds. Obras Basket's coach Nicolas Casalanguida felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Aaron Harper (203-81, college: Mississippi) with 19 points and international power forward Tayavek Gallizzi (205-93) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Obras Basket and five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Obras Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Quimsa keeps the sixth position with 20 games lost. Obras Basket will face Libertad Sunchales (#7) on the road in the next round. Quimsa will play against Instituto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
