Quarter-Finals Round 2: Perlas-MRU - Rasai 83-85

Rasai nipped Perlas-MRU away from home to gain 2-0 lead. It looked good early as Perlas-MRU took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rasai had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Perlas-MRU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-85. Rasai forced 23 Perlas-MRU turnovers. Strangely Perlas-MRU outrebounded Rasai 36-20 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) notched 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) supported him with 16 points and 7 assists. Four Rasai players scored in double figures. Even 32 points and 5 rebounds by forward Arnas Berucka (195-97) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (197-93) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
