The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Almat.Legion's (7-11) road victory over 4th placed Kazygurt (4-14) in Shymkent 98-92 on Thursday. Almat.Legion forced 23 Kazygurt turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Kazygurt was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for international guard Yuriy Kozhanov (190-90) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The former international center Vsevolod Fadeikin (206-85) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Almat.Legion's coach Nikolaj Tanaseychuk used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Zhandos Kaliyev (197-93) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds and guard Alymzhan Maxutov (181-94) added 25 points and 6 assists in the effort for Kazygurt. Four Kazygurt players scored in double figures. Almat.Legion maintains third place with 7-11 record having seven points less than leader Bars. Loser Kazygurt keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Almat.Legion will face league's leader Tobol in Kostanay in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kazygurt will play at home against the league's leader Tobol and hope to win that game.
