Regular Season Round 23: Antibes - Strasbourg 72-81

Date: March 17, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Olympique Antibes (7-16) lost at home to sixth ranked Strasbourg IG (14-9) 81-72 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Olympique Antibes won third quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Strasbourg IG won last quarter 27-20. Strasbourg IG outrebounded Olympique Antibes 36-24 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (208-94, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) contributed with 13 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. Isaia Cordinier (194-96) answered with 19 points and American Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Olympique Antibes. Strasbourg IG have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Olympique Antibes lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Strasbourg IG will face league's second-placed Chalon/Saor at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olympique Antibes will play against JDA Dijon (#13) and hope to win that game.
