Regular Season Round 3: Rockingham F. - Perth R. 77-102

Date: March 17, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with Redbacks' (2-0) road victory over Flames (0-1) in Rockingham 102-77 on Friday. Redbacks made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Redbacks outrebounded Flames 42-27 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Flames were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Alexander Loughton (206-83, college: ODU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Justin Beard (200) answered with 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Beau Samuelson (183, college: Clarion) added 15 points in the effort for Flames. Four Redbacks and five Flames players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Redbacks will face Slammers (#12) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flames will play on the road against Stirling S. in Perth and look forward to get finally their first victory.
