Regular Season Round 23: Paris-Levallois - Cholet 75-74

Fifteenth-ranked Cholet Basket (8-15) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Paris-Levallois (14-9). Paris-Levallois managed to secure only one-point victory 75-74. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Cholet Basket took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Paris-Levallois had a 22-15 second period charge getting the lead and Cholet Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-75. The best player for the winners was American guard Jason Rich (191-86) who scored 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Louis Labeyrie (209-92) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman David Noel (201-84, college: N.Carolina) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Jonathan Rousselle (187-90) added 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Cholet Basket's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Paris-Levallois maintains fifth place with 14-9 record, which they share with Strasbourg. Cholet Basket at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Paris-Levallois' next round opponent will be Limoges CSP Elite (#10) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Cholet Basket will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez and hope to win that game.
