Regular Season Round 23: Nantes - Provence Basket 81-63

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Provence Basket (16-7) against ninth ranked Nantes (12-11) on Friday night. Visiting Provence Basket was defeated by Nantes in Nantes 81-63. The game was mostly controlled by Nantes. Provence Basket was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Nantes players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for American Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (200-88, college: Le Moyne) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) responded with 15 points and American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (198-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: BeoBasket) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nantes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Provence Basket at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Nantes will play against Boulazac Basket (#9) on the road in the next round. Provence Basket will play against Lille Metropole (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
